Sam Shrug is a UK-based mixed media artist exploring club music nostalgia through street poster assemblage, paint and halftone stencil techniques.
Disaffected in a long career as an electronic music live act (and under a secret pseudonym), Shrug found himself drawn to the pursuit of pasting art on the streets; using materials literally pulled from the walls he collects and tears flyposters and combines with ink and spray paint to create his unique style of clubber-centric collage work that channels the fighting spirit of illegal raves and the suave decadence of clubland hedonism.
